Watching this TC Bank commercial was very bizarre. I was born in Taiwan and then my family emigrated over 40 years ago. I finally went back a couple of years ago to act in a car commercial. It was my roots trip and it was awesome. After working on the commercial, I went around three quarters of the island, unfortunately, not on a motorcycle. If you’ve never been to Taiwan, as most people wouldn’t have, I highly recommend it. Thanks to this inspiring commercial, I love to go back and see it again, especially one more time after I retire.

A little catch in the throat there… very insirational and ‘resolution forming’!!
Thank you Gentlemen, thank you…

Great story; told so well. Made me get goose-bumps!

Scout March 5, 2011 Reply

Mark, unfortunely you have never experienced what these gentlemen & so many of the posters have. I too have been riding for over 40 years & every time I fire up my Harley & take off on a ride it’s still exciting. That’s what keeps us going. I’ve got a t-shirt that says ” You never see a motorcycle sitting in front of a psychologist office”. I thought it was GREAT!!!

Ray Unseitig March 5, 2011 Reply

Good medicine. Let’s all ride in our own way.
Ray Unseitig over here in Escondido, on my bike.

Some Taiwan film makers should make this into a full-length movie. It would be great to promote tourism. I thought this was a movie trailer until I saw the sponsor’s name at the end.

Jennifer March 6, 2011 Reply

I could watch this over, and over and over and never complain.

My husband is terminaly ill. He is still riding his B King sport motorcycle. He has been riding for 56 years. Thanks for this great commercial. It brought tears to my heart, and a lump in my throat.

I’m 73 and ride a GoldWing. My bike has 128K on the meter. I totally agree with this message. How super to still do – at any age!

Michael Kazan March 6, 2011 Reply

Simply stated,if you don’t ride,you don’t know! Brilliant piece!

Steve Read March 6, 2011 Reply

The story is not about bikers It’s about people. One could plug in any other sport or hobby etc. and inspired the same response. Of course bikers will have a special place in their hearts for this piece. I’m one…

LaTeshia March 6, 2011 Reply

That moved me to tears and reminded that anything is possible if you want to go and get it. 🙂

Made me think that instead of complaining about my ailments I should live live to my full extent not just for me,but for those I love. Beautifully done.
@Mark, I feel sorry for you,how pathetic your life must be,

This is one of those rare moments when physical life and the spirit inside become one, alive with the understanding words can not convey. Fantastic commercial truly more than that. Father dying of bone marrow cancer and wife had breast cancer 3 years ago, life is short and being inspired and uplifting others is the best medicine. Thanks for sharing.

best i have ever seen. Reminded me of my younger days. And has inspired me to get out there and live again.

Kev, Great stuff. And, yes, I wish that all advertising could be this good. What’s this is really about is the value of shared experience and how meaningful it is to all of us. I’ve been reading Virus of the Mind which explores how memes and viruses, especially the mis-guided and ill-conceived ones, affect our lives. You might want to take a look sometime. Anyway, this ad reminds me of how these memes & viruses can be applied in a constructive, well-intentioned way.

Not only touched my heart, but touched where I am today. After just returning from two months living in the Caribbean on Tortola island, I am looking around my home and life and wondering how things get some complicated. My dream is to continue to simplify until each day I can get up and breath sweetly and easily…maybe I’ll get a motorcycle too!

snoopy March 7, 2011 Reply

I was so lost in this wonderful production that I completely forgot that it was a commercial. Truly inspiring.

"Pops" Menefee March 7, 2011 Reply

Great commercial. I will be 75 in April 2011 and still ride. Age can only slow you down, not stop you. Follow your dreams.

Today a Monday back at work, I decided to ask some friends if they want to go on a cruise in the fall. I have to live and I need to go and enjoy new places with friends. One of the people I asked has an incurable illness and soon may not be able to travel. They said yes… I hate Mondays, but today was a good one.
We have to live.

Thank you. Of all the memories of my father the one when he took my buddies new 6cyl. Honda “out for a spin”.
He did a wheelie down the drive, turned it in the air and blasted down the street. He came back with a huge grin, my friend was in shock as was I. He was biker in the ’50’s. I didn’t know and he didn’t tell. I saw him as much as I saw the actors. Thank you.

Work like you don’t need the money.

Love like nobody has ever hurt you.

Dance like nobody is watching.

Sing like nobody is listening.

Live as if this is the paradise on earth.

Dreams are the catalyst for experiencing the journey… don’t give up on a dream when life is about the journey.

FYI – Rik – commercials don’t have to be 28.6 seconds long… they are what you make them. change the institution.

Carol March 8, 2011 Reply

We should all have that kind of courage.

Ront March 8, 2011 Reply

One of my cherished memories of my Dad was taking him on his first motorcycle ride of his life (in the mountains) the day he turned 80. We had many more.

Last year I met a man who was riding his motorcycle at age 94. After age 80 he toured Canada, went to Alaska, to Florida and California by himself. He said that every time he took his helmut off people said, “How old are you anyway!”

Jolove March 8, 2011 Reply

At age 64, I went for my first ride with an individual whom I had the sweetest and fondest emotions for who said “I got this motorcycle for us.” It was one of the most touching experience to be with the Spirit within one’s self, nature, wind, mountains, oceans, ever so free, the ecstatic feeling of two bodies turning around the bends and curves, loving these times of being in the moment……and then he said met someone else…….for those moments in time, I will never forget US and our CREATOR within. Yes, tears filled my eyes…..now, someone else sits in place of me.
