Here’s a Gary Vaynerchuk video I saw recently where he suggests having multiple topic-specific social media accounts instead of just one for everything you do:
His reasoning is that since followers are essentially meaningless now and the algorithms decide what to show based on topic alignment, it’s a way to ultimately reach more people.
For example, I could have one account where I just post newsletter advice, one where I just post business advice, and one where I just post LinkedIn advice.
I’m not going to do that.
But it’s an interesting approach.
He’s talking primarily about doing it on platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok more so than LinkedIn (I assume) and I don’t use those platforms.
But if I did, I might consider it.
The game really has changed and it seems like there’s a lot of logic to what he’s suggesting.
