A perfect example of the phrase “You don’t stop riding because you get old, you get old because you stop riding.”

This video embodies what it’s all about, it’s about the experience of life, enjoying the moment. That’s motorcycling. I thought about riding for 8 years before actually doing it. I realized, I didn’t want to be old or dying and think, “I really wish I had tried that” so I went out and got my license, my bike and all the clothes you could imagine to handle any weather condition. It’s my zen time, my stress relief. I love it.

Now, my girlfriend begs every weekend to go riding. She has her whole outfit and loves being on the back of the bike. I thought that was the extent of her interest, but last night she said “maybe I should learn to ride and get a 250”. She definitely has the bug and will have life-long good memories too.

Thanks for posting this video!

Oh….how refreshing, so much better than all the other garbage we see daily. Just loved it, as a biker who’s been riding for 40 years, I can truly appreciated what they all felt. Even if it’s an advert, it makes you feel good!

Telling it like it is —– for the seniors magnificent inspiration to live life to the inth degree —— for the younger generations a reminder of their parents emotions and situations as they too age .
And yes the tears flowed !!!!

The spot is 3:11 … how is this a commercial? Lovely piece but lets call a commercial a commercial. This is a short film …

I will get my bike out of the garage and find a friend today. We need to have a ride for old times sake. Been to long. Good reminder.
Like my good friend says, “The journey is the destination”.

I am 62 years old. My buddy Dave (much older guy) and I make a motorcycle trip from southern Mississippi to Alaska and back yearly. It is only about 15,000 miles round trip. We have traveled to every state many times except Hawaii. We have ridden up and down the entire Pacific coast and can not find the bridge to Hawaii? We have traveled to every Province and territory in Canada and into Mexico. But it is not where you have been, but where you are going. Yes, it is challenging but what a view. Go for it now! Push the handle of your LazyBoy recliner forward and never look back!

As an elder grasshopper of the Tribe said …

“For those who do, no explanation is needed, for those who don’t no explanation is possible.”

Brilliant short movie (not a commercial!). And to all those taking it literally, it isn’t about riding motor bikes per se, it is far deeper than that. It is about not giving in, not accepting fate. It is about following your dreams whatever they are.

romi March 11, 2011 Reply

Very inspiring and uplifting. Thank you.

Bob March 11, 2011 Reply

To me this is not about riding motorcycles. It is about paying tribute to two friends that have passed on and are no longer part of their tight-knit group. Very moving and it is too beautiful to be dubbed a “commercial”.

To the commenter who dissed on the bank for playing on people’s feelings: if all banks had the primary goal of supporting people’s heartfelt dreams, instead of speculating irresponsibly with their funds, we’d all be better off right now.
I’ve always wanted to visit Taiwan. Now I know what I’ll do when I get there. Meanwhile, I’ll keep on riding in Colorado.
Keep it on two wheels!

It was touching and moving. It gave me goose bumps.
I also ride a motor, a Harley Davidson and will do that for as long as I possibly can.
Wonderful commercial, wish there were more of these.

Silvergirl March 12, 2011 Reply

Totally awesome! I am 54 and just started riding – the realization of a lifelong dream. Someone above said it’s ‘their zen time’ – so true for me, too. As a beginner,I don’t go fast or far, but every second, every mile on my little Rebel 250 is like the joy and exhilaration shown by the gentlement in the video – ageless and priceless. Ride on!

Thewinenut March 12, 2011 Reply

I’m thinking about retirement and I don’t know what I’ll do because working has been my entire life as I’m divorced and have no children. I’m feeling down about myself, but now I feel a little ashamed too. This is just the kick in the pants I need to move forward.

Dave March 12, 2011 Reply

I don’t care if it is a commercial or not…it is just too cool! After 25 years on 4 wheels it is great to be back on just 2 wheels again! Be excellent to each other while we have the time left!

Just getting my ’85 Aspencade ready to ride in time for my 70th birthday in April, timing belts and seals, – nothing serious. – (Wow, this is the first time I’ve seen “my 70th” in black and white.) – Sure doesn’t feel like it . Now that I parked my 18 wheeler last week I’ll have more time. To all you 50-something dreamers, —
DO IT!!

I think it is to inspire us to live our years as we age with joy , wonderment and sprit ,not just be ( Old People). Especially in the USA where Old people are mostly ignored .
