If your podcast promotion emails aren’t getting clicks, the problem may not be the episode – it’s how you’re promoting it.

Here are 3 common mistakes to avoid:

1. Don’t bury the lead.

Too many emails don’t mention the episode until halfway through.

Get to the point.

2. Don’t save the link for the end.

The earlier you include it, the more clicks it will get.

Don’t force people to scroll to find it.

It’s also fine to include the link more than once.

3. Make the email valuable even if they don’t click.

The best way to promote a product is to let people experience it.

So don’t just tease the episode.

Share the most useful or interesting part of it in the email itself.

If it’s good, it will make people more likely to listen – not less.
