I’m going to audit my own newsletter soon and thought I’d share what I plan to do in case you want to audit your own newsletter too.
The goal is to update and improve everything related to my newsletter.
Here’s what I plan to do for mine:
1. Clean my list, run a re-engagement campaign, and remove subscribers who are no longer paying attention.
2. Review and revise my signup page copy.
3. Review and revise the signup forms copy on my website.
4. Review and revise my welcome email and sequence.
5. Review and revise the description of my newsletter on Kit’s Creator Network, see who’s recommending me, and update who I recommend.
6. Analyze where I’m getting subscribers from these days and how those subscribers are performing from different sources.
7. Review and revise how I’m turning newsletter subscribers into product buyers and clients.
8. Review and revise my newsletter sponsorship sales page.
9. Review and revise how I promote my newsletter on my LinkedIn profile.
10. Review what links have attracted the most clicks recently to get a sense of what type of content is resonating most with my readers.
I assume it will take me a few hours to do all this, but be WELL worth it.
