10 LinkedIn Experiments To Improve Your Posts

Test one change with every LinkedIn post you publish this week.

It doesn’t really matter what it is – just try something in every single post that you don’t typically do and at the end of the week look back on the results.

You’ll notice your posts either:

• Performed better than usual

• Performed worse than usual

• It didn’t seem to make any difference at all

Whatever the result, you’ll learn something useful.

If you’re not sure what change to test, here are a few ideas to consider:

1. Include a link in every post

2. End every post with a question

3. Include an image with every post (or the opposite if you usually include images)

4. Include a video with every post

5. Have every image be a quote image

6. Have every image be a photo of you

7. Make every post twice as long as your typical post

8. Make every post half as long as your typical post

9. Make every post something you published at least six months ago that worked well

10. Tag one person in every post

No matter what you choose, experimentation like this is crucial to improving your content strategy.

The most successful content creators do this all the time.

For example, Jay Clouse has quite literally rooted his brand in the idea of experimentation.

What you test matters far less than that you test.

So what am I going to test this week?

Number 10 on that list.

And I started with this post.
