How I Get More Engagement On LinkedIn (And Build Real Relationships)

If you want more engagement on LinkedIn, the answer isn’t posting more – it’s how you respond to the people who already engage with you.

Here’s a simple strategy I’ve been using:

When you like or comment on my post, I check out your profile and comment on one of your posts.

I don’t force it, but…

I’ve usually got value to add to the conversation on at least one of your posts.

Or can help start one.

I’m doing this because I believe:

1. When someone steps toward you, it’s smart to step toward them

2. You should always encourage the behavior you want more of

3. If you find my work valuable, chances are your followers will too

4. Everyone wants to feel seen

5. Rewarding the people who already pay attention to you is a higher priority than chasing the attention of new people

6. The goal is relationships, not followers

7. You’ll engage with my posts more often if you know I’m going to return the favor

8. It’s an easy way for me to share my audience with you

9. It’s just a nice thing to do
