When Lorne Michaels put the Killer Bees sketch in the first episode of Saturday Night Live, he got a note from the network that said:
“No more Bees.”
When he got that note, he decided to put the Bees in the next several episodes.
A few episodes later he got another note from the network that said:
“More Bees.”
Like William Goldman famously said about Hollywood, “Nobody knows anything.”
But that’s true of more than just Hollywood.
Just because an “expert” tells you something won’t work doesn’t mean they’re right.
Do what you want.
Everything’s an experiment anyway.
