I believe in action.
Action creates impact. Drives change. Makes things happen. Turns potential into success.
But most people struggle with it.
They talk about taking action. They ask others what action they should take. They dream about what could happen if they took action and worry about what will happen if they take action.
These things get in the way of action. They prevent us from getting what we want out of our work, our art, and our lives. This inability to take action keep us from the success we want.
But it doesn’t have to.
I’m far from perfect, but I think I’ve gotten pretty good at taking action and helping others do the same over the years. I don’t just talk about doing things – I actually do them.
This might seem like a small skill, but I’ve come to realize over the years that it’s not. It’s probably the single most important factor in the success I’ve had up to this point in my life.
I’ve learned to break problems down into concrete action steps and to figure out what actions are needed to get where I want to go. I’ve learned to commit to doing the work and how to get things done. I don’t fear failure and I understand action doesn’t guarantee success. But I also realize success is impossible without action.
Now, I want to share what I’ve learned (and continue to learn) with others.
I want to help you take action.
In a series of upcoming posts on this blog I’ll share my thoughts about how to turn intention into action, why driving action is more important than generating awareness, and more tips to help you figure out what actions you need to take and how to ensure that you do so.
This won’t be the kind of generic self-help advice that abounds online these days, but rather actionable, specific advice. You don’t need yet another blog post telling you to “work harder” and “be more confident” – there’s plenty of those cliches floating around out there already.
Instead, I’m going to give more specific directions to accomplish specific things. And in the interest of specificity, I’d love to share some ideas with you based on the exact goals and challenges you face in your life.
I invite you to email me with any questions you have about something you’re struggling to figure out how to accomplish or where to start.
