Let’s Talk About What Happened This Week…

As you may have noticed, posting on this site continues to be slow.

But don’t worry, it’s not because I don’t love you any more – I’ve just been busy posting a bunch of other stuff in a bunch of other places.

The Internet’s become a complicated place and different ideas seem to fit best in different places which is a long-winded way of saying I’m still figuring out what belongs on the pages of this site these days.

But I know something definitely belongs here, so bear with me while I sort it out.

In the meantime, I thought I’d update you on some of the things I’ve discovered (and contributed) to the world in the past week.

60 Profiles Later, A Person You Should Know Has Attracted 1,200 Subscribers

TheĀ  side project that’s taking up the majority of my time these days continues to hum along and I profiled another five people this week on A Person You Should Know.

They’re all awesome and I recommend you check out my writeups on Buzzfeed founder Jonah Peretti if you want to learn how and why people share things online, teacher Jose Luis Vilson if you want an interesting look at issues our teachers face, maker Stef Lewandowski to learn why you should create something every day, minimalist Courtney Carver to learn how to simplify your life, and media technologist Deanna Zandt to better understand how social media actually affects us.

Oh, and if you haven’t yet subscribed to get each new person sent to you via email, you can do that here.

Stuff I Used To Post Here Is Now Twitter Fodder

Because I’ve been busy, a lot of the stuff I used to post on this site is currently finding its way on to my Twitter feed instead.

For example, these fun art images.

I also became obsessed with this Jamaican kid workout trainer:

And If You Want To Read Some Things I Wrote…

Another of my latest obsessions is sharing my thoughts on Medium. It’s a great platform with a quality audience and it’s motivated me to write a few posts recently that I thought I should share here as well.

I’ve actually published five articles on the site this month and they include:

Why Every High School Should Teach A Social Media Class

I Work In Social Media – Here Are 9 Things On My Mind

How You Can Get Better At Anything In One Month

“You Need To DO Things. Not Enough People Do Things.”

Here Are 12 Women You Should Know – Can You Help Me Find More?

See? Told you I’ve been busy.

Oh, one more thing I didn’t write but I highly recommend you read. This article about How To Lose Weight In 4 Easy Steps really has nothing to do with losing weight, but is a fantastic and inspiring read.

That’s it for now – more to come soon I’m sure.
