Today’s selection for 1980s Fast Food Commercials week is a particularly strange one. Back in 1987, the advertising geniuses behind Kentucky Fried Chicken decided to feature Looney Tunes’ character Foghorn Leghorn in a commercial in which he encourages people to eat KFC’s fried chicken…even though he himself is a chicken. Awk…ward.

To be fair, there was nothing cannibalistic about Foghorn’s suggestion: he was telling the chicken hawk (not a chicken) where to get yummy chicken, not eating it himself.
