As somebody who doesn’t eat sushi, I’m not a huge fan of Japanese cuisine. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything that looks less appetizing than Odori-don, which you can see in this video.
Apparently, Odori-don is “a live squid with its head removed is served on top of a bowl of sushi rice, accompanied by sashimi prepared from the head (usually sliced ika (squid) and ika-kimo (squid liver)) as well as other seafood. Seasoned soy sauce is first poured on top of the squid to make it “dance.”

Animal cruelty. That is what that is.
I eat sushi, but I prefer that it stay in the bowl or plate it’s in.
That is sadistic and cruel! What’s for dessert… butterflys with their wings pulled off?
