Today is my 36th birthday. Exactly one year ago today, I marked my 35th birthday on this site by compiling a list of 35 Songs That Meant Something To Me On My 35th Birthday.
I decided I should do something similar this year, so I’ve compiled a collection of 36 Photos Of Places That Mean Something To Me On My 36th Birthday. Most of these photos were not taken by me, but all of them feature places where meaningful things in my life have happened.
Just like last year, I’m not going to explain what each photo is or what the place in it means to me. Some will be obvious, some you might be able to guess if you know me well, and some nobody but me will know.

Amazing, I found you today. Today would have been my sister’s 60th birthday–she died in June 2003. It’s not a sad day for me, in fact, life goes on. I’ll be 62 in May.
Love that commercial–I was nearly born on a Harley, my mother often told me. I rode on an ancient Harley when I was 16, Fort Stevens in the summer, Oregon. Other than that I’ve never been on a motorcycle.
