Back in 2006, I read about a town near Buffalo called Lily Dale that was home to hundreds of spiritual “mediums.” People from around the globe come to the small town to get readings and “contact” their loved ones who have passed away. At the time, I thought it sounded like a great premise for a Northern Exposure-type TV series.
Well, four years later HBO has now put out a documentary about the town which I just watched and all it did was convince me even further that it would be a great backdrop for a show. Maybe one of these days I’ll write one. Probably not, but maybe.
